What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?
At the heart of Traditional Chinese Medicine is the belief that preventative medicine can be applied to combat disease and fight the signs of ageing.
Cosmetic Acupuncture has been around for thousands of years, it originated from the use of acupuncture and other modalities as a treatment for skin conditions as well as facial rejuvenation.
By inserting ultra-fine needles into the skin’s surface blood flow is increased to the area this in turn can assist in toning the facial muscles, smoothing out wrinkles and increasing collagen production as well as blood and lymph flow to the face.
Cosmetic acupuncture is a gentle and safe treatment which uses the body’s own natural healing ability to renew and reinvigorate giving you a more youthful appearance.

What to expect during a Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment:
Have you ever noticed how individual ageing can be? Some of us have sagging jaw lines whilst others have deep lines on the brow. During a Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment the face is analysed for signs of ageing and treatment is applied which aims to address the root cause of your particular ageing signature. Body points are used in conjunction with facial points to help energise the body or balance the hormonal system and send “qi” and blood to the face and neck.
Cosmetic Acupuncture also employs many other therapeutic methods to assist in the rejuvenation process including advice on diet and nutrients to enhance the skin’s appearance, skin care advice, plus facial massage, cupping to the body, ear points, patented herbal formulas and more....
As Cosmetic Acupuncture employs several techniques within each treatment please allow 1½ hours for the initial consultation with follow-ups taking about an hour.
A course of treatment ranges from 10 – 15 consecutive treatments. It is recommended that the first 6 – 8 treatments occur twice a week. The effects can last 3-5 years in younger patients. If required, a maintenance programme can be arranged with treatments every few months to maintain general health & wellbeing.
